We are looking for 15 young artists aged 14 - 17 years old to take part in HOME’s Young Artists Studio in 2024. This 12 month programme will include practical visual arts workshops, open studio sessions and chance to meet and work with practicing artists and industry professionals.
Participants will also have the opportunity visit artists’ studios and galleries, meet with the Visual Arts Programming team and create a group exhibition in the Inspire Gallery at HOME.
During this project, you will learn about curation, installation, commissioning, studio working, artist’s collectives, marketing and more as you are guided through the exhibition process.
The Young Artists Studio takes place on two Wednesday evenings per month from 6 – 8pm starting from Wed 24 Jan 2024. The full list of dates is listed in the drop down menu of more information at the bottom of this page.
The deadline to apply is 12pm Thu 21 Dec 23. We will let you know if you have gained a place on the group by Fri 12 Jan 24.

What will the programme cover?
The 12 sessions held at at HOME will cover topics such as: What is Public Art? What is a Gallery? What is Curating? How Do Artists Get Paid? Who is my audience?
What support will I get to create my own work?
There will be up to 12 Open Studio sessions in a supportive messy space where you will be able to progress your own pieces. You will contribute to a group exhibition at the end of the programme where your work will be exhibited at HOME’s Inspire Gallery. All participants will receive a small bursary to spend on art materials to contribute to their artwork that is exhibited at HOME.
Is the programme free?
Yes. All of the sessions are free and all participants will receive a small bursary to spend on art materials to contribute to their artwork that is exhibited at HOME.
We have a limited number of bursaries available to support with travel.
